I have an Aunt who cannot see very well. She loves being on the computer even being 80 yrs old. But as time goes by she loses more and more of her sight because of diabetes. She is to the point now she cant use her computer anymore. Anyone know the best programs or operating systems for visually impaired people?

Xp has a handy setting for those who find it hard to read things, cntrl+shift+prnt screen, or cntrl+shift+alt+printscreen, something like that, I know its 2 and print screen, you’ll just have to try it out, it also has magnifine glass Start>Accessories>Accessibility>Magnifier

yes try any of the version of Linux it is designed for everything visual and hearing impaired people in fact Linux is designed for everything you can think of
Linux is free to download and use with all the software you/she will ever need. it is point and click GUI just like windows and the Mac operating system is,
you can download the Live DVD/CD and run it from the cd rom drive without installing it till she gets used to it Give it a try out I have installed it on many old people computers I myself am 67 years young so I know what I am talking about trust me and when you see what Linux can do you to will move over to it
There are many Linux disributions to pick from here is a list you can try out all upto date, 2009 Linux is faster more secure than windows will ever be
