What do I do when my old Gateway computer automatically shuts down 5 minutes after start up?
Posted by: kk : Category: Computer Question Answers
It’s really weird. I turn on the computer and try to use it then a couple minutes after it fully starts up something pops up and tells me my computer is going to shut down in 1:00. Then it starts counting down and when it gets to zero it restarts itself and the whole thing happens all over again. I have a new computer but there are some files on this old computer that I want. What do I do to make it stop?

a- Does it do this after you click on an icon? If it does try not clicking on anything at all and see if it does it.
b- If it still does then check in the Startup folder in Start, All Programs. Delete all of the icons. don’t worry this will just stop them from starting automatically when your computer turns on. It should stop now.
c- Click on all of the icons on you desktop to test if they will cause it. If one causes it then delete the icon. It will probably be disquised as inernet explorer if it is up there.
Hope this helps!

The easiest and fastest way to solve this problem is to run a registry cleaner software. A registry cleaner can eliminate errors in your record. This record stores all information about the software, drivers, applications and games that are installed on your computer. And in time, it can get bad, because some obsolete entries are not deleted and can lead to what they call the “errors”. By using a registry cleaner http://make-a-computer-run-better.com the errors can be eradicated and increases the speed of your computer in the process. Registry cleaners work by scanning each file and then checking to see if it’s corrupt or causing problems. If they find that it is broken, the registry cleaner will replace or fix the file for you to make your computer become free of errors. In addition, the errors will not happen if you regularly check and care for your computer system.
