Reliable,
400 Watt Power source has been working well since install. I would recommend this product for anyone to use. I installed this power upgrade to install new video card for gaming. I have the power I need now to run other hardware as well. Greg

Startech replacement power supply for Dell,
My 8 year old Dell 4400 was dead but I was getting a green light on the mother board. Google searches indicated the probable culprits were either the power supply unit or bad memory. My problem was the both memory sticks went bad within two days of each other but the power supply could have been a contributing factor. Back to the Startech unit, installation took about 10 minutes and is just a matter of hooking up the power leads to the MB, and drives. My old power supply was probably living on borrowed time being 8 years old and dealing with increased power demands of several upgrades. I will give this unit 5 stars because it is quit, powerful, well packaged and it has given my 8 year old Dell a new lease on life. You could save some money going the refurbished route but this is one of those items were it might be better to spend a little more and buy a reliable new brand.

Great replacement for Dell power supply,
Great replacement for my Dimenion 8400. I installed the StarTech power supply around a month ago and so far no problems. Installation was very simple (took me about 10 minutes from opening the tower to having the computer running again, and this was my first time changing any computer hardware).
The only complaint I have is how the unit is held in place. It lacks the rails that were present on Dell’s original power supply so the “hook” on the inside of the tower did not have a place it could slide into. As a result the holes for the screws in the back of the power supply were a bit out of alignment with the tower and I needed to get one slightly longer screw to hold it firmly in place.
