The StarTech.com 9.2cm x 9.2cm x 2.5cm (3 5/8″ x 3 5/8″ x 1″) PC case fan is an add-in cooling fan designed to fit most computers. It can be used to circulate cool air into the case or exhaust warm air out, preventing problems due to overheating components. A quiet running brushless ball bearing DC motor coupled with a high efficiency blade design is capable of moving 37 CFM (cubic feet per minute) of air. Power is supplied to the fan using a standard LP4 (hard drive power connector) pass through plug.

This fits perfectly into a stock E-Machines T-3256. It’s easy to install backwards so check your air flow. This is used as a case exhaust fan in my model of computer. Only computers running hot processors and graphics cards need intake fans. There is no internal 3 pin plug to connect it to your motherboard, only an LP4 Molex plug so make sure you have a spare one of those coming off your power supply. The stock 300 Watt Power Supply for this model of computer has four LP4 molex sockets and three of those are in use connecting the hard drive, the dvd and the cd drives. The 400 Watt Corsair I replaced it with has 6. If you’re running an agp graphics card requiring an LP4 molex socket you can see where the lack of these sockets might be an issue. Radio Shack sells a splitter for this purpose but your power supply needs to be able to supply the correct amperage. The specs on this case fan from the package are dimensions 3.62 inch by 3.62 inch by 1 inch. Bearing System- Ball Bearing. Weight-75grams. Rated Voltage-12volts. Rated Speed- 2500RPM. Airflow-37.1 cubic feet/minute. Life Expectancy- 45,000 Hours. Noise Level- 32db. Operating Temperature-minus 10- positive 80 degrees centigrade. Connector- LP4 Molex internal power. This is a quality case fan that will move some air but you will be able to hear it whirring away.
