Question by Daniel O: How much does a computer cost to replace inside of a car?
The car brand is a 2001 Dodge Neon. I’m getting the computer system in the car completely replaced. Please tell me the average price of a new or used computer system, along with labor added on if you could. Thank you very much.
I honestly doubt it’s gonna’ be over $ 1,000. Anyways, anybody else know the average?
Any other averages? I like the $ 200 range answers, so I’m really hoping that’s the truth.

they range from 100 to 1,000 for car computers. It depends which computer it is cause cars have a couple of them.

If by computer you mean the Engine Management System, then about $ 2k. so with labour $ 2.5k.

PCM/ECM/ECM usually 100 bucks used…200 bucks new. Installation $ 75-100 bucks (booked) maybe. It’s a simple install…should do it yourself. Assuming…the pcm is the actual problem.

Replacement computers are variable in price, 100.00-300.00 for the computer, the labor is variable and is pertinent on where you live and the shop you take it to, the dealer will be the highest price.
