Question by Michael L: How do I connect my computer to the internet?
Okay so recently my computer got a virus and I had to reinstall windows XP. I’ve done that, but now I need to connect that computer to the internet. Before I had to do that my computer didn’t need any cables or anything, and it could still connect to the internet. I know the internet server and it’s password but I don’t even know how to come close to setting up my internet. Can anyone help me?

You’re missing driver for ethernet port. Upgrade to windows 7 so you don’t have to download driver.

If you were using internet without using any cable, it means there is a wireless LAN Card attached to your PC. First install the driver of WLAN Card. Then follow these steps
1. Double click on “My Computer” icon
2. In new window you will find an option of “My Network Places” on left side. Click that
3. Further you will get the option of “view network connections” on left pane of the window.
4. Then you will find an icon of “Local Area Connection”
5. Right click on that icon and go to “Properties”.
6. There put the server name and password, and click on the Connect button at the bottom.
You may use internet now. For further assistance you may call to your internet service provider. They will assist you on phone call for better understanding.
