I purchased the Puzzle Master 2 software a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been meaning to upgrade to a more recent version for a while and when I saw the Puzzle Master Deluxe version available I decided to buy it though unfortunately not from Amazon – I am in the UK, amazon.com doesn’t distribute to the UK and amazon.co.uk doesn’t have the software so I ended up going elsewhere.
The software just arrived this afternoon and I am impressed with its range of features and ease of use. I personally turn off the Shadow feature as I find it makes the pieces difficult to see, and I don’t use any of the Sound features as I am very hard of hearing. I do like the Ghost Image and different ways of displaying the background to the jigsaw as you can customise it to make the puzzle pieces easy to see. I also found the Paper and Card piece styles very attractive though the pieces appear somewhat “jaggy” when “cut” by the software. Once you have finished your jigsaw you get a full screen image which disappears when clicked on.
There are options for importing your own pictures to create your own jigsaw puzzles though the preview feature for this is somewhat clumsy – it won’t show thumbnail pictures if the originals are above a certain size and this can make it difficult to find the digital camera photo that you want. You can also save the finished puzzle for e-mail and create screensavers and desktop wallpapers. And there are many options for customising your jigsaw puzzle during play and/or creation – you can produce puzzles with 1,000 or more pieces if you so wish. There are options for downloading further puzzles from the web site run by the software designer if you so wish, some for free and some purchasable.
You are restricted by the terms of use from making puzzles which you can sell and they do provide copyright warnings around the use of the images for sharing with other people, but there is a nice collection of pictures within the software. I tried the bonus software included of a 3D jigsaw puzzle of the Kremlin, but found the movement very slow and jaggy and it was almost impossible to control the mouse movement.
That said once you have the Puzzle Master software open it’s excellent, fun to play with and very good value for money, with enough puzzles to keep you occupied for quite some time. It’s perhaps not the best jigsaw puzzle software I’ve ever seen – those jaggy edges around the pieces do spoil the effect a little – but it works very well and provides good value for money in terms of contents, ease of use and flexibility.

I had bought computer puzzle games before and was not very satisfied(peices to small, hard to move, etc). I read another review of this one and thought I’d give it a try. I am so glad that I did! I especially like the fact that I can turn my own photos into puzzles and email them to friends! Puzzle pieces are large enough to work with easily and the program allows you to sort pieces into different trays by color, shape, etc. This product is well worth the money!

A friend introduced me to doing jigsaws on line and I soon got hooked, but got frustrated because I did them too quickly and ran out of them, then I saw this program. Not hugely impressed with the ones that are supplied in the “game”, but the fact that you can hunt for pictures on the web, or use your own photo’s means you have an endless supply. It is nice that you can send them to friends for them to do as well. I would reccommend this to anyone who likes jigsaws but hates the amount of space a “real” one takes.

The puzzles were not very original. Rather Common. Colors, however, were great. Not very good subject matter. Really like ability to change degree of difficulty. Too many similiar puzzles.

This is a fantastic product. I love to play any and all variations of puzzles. You can chose any difficulty level or number of pieces for any puzzle. Even my 4 year old will play the puzzles, pick her shape size, etc. It is entertaining for minutes or hours for any age group. HIGHLY recommend this software.
