Does not work on Netbooks …., January 8, 2011

Okay, so if you have a netbook, and wanted to put this game on there, forget about it …. it will not work. This is a bummer, and this software developer needs to get with the times … a lot of people own netbooks, and most games work perfectly fine on a netbook. The box should explicitly state that it does not work on netbooks. I also went to the game’s customer support site, and there is not any information at all about this game. I sent an email to their support asking them if there is anything that I could do to get this to work on my netbook, and they never even responded to me.

I was going to return the game, but as it was opened, and I bought it from Target, I was not sure if they would take it back. So, I installed this onto our desktop which runs Windows 7, and my husband’s (full size) laptop which runs Vista. The game works perfectly fine on the desktop. As far as the laptop, it works fine once you get the program open, but for some reason sometimes it has problems opening. I am not sure if it is some sort of weird compatibility thing with Vista or not.

As for the level of fun with this game,it is pretty fun. It has 10 different modes of play, and lots of different backgrounds and tile choices. You can also go through adventure mode, which is basically a series of regular majongg games that you advance through and move around on a map to unlock more backgrounds, tile choices, and receive awards.

So to sum up: Works well on Windows 7, not as well on Vista. Does not work at all on a Netbook. No customer support for this game. BUT, a very fun game.

My 90-year-young Dad LOVES the real game of Mahjongg. But until he can find someone to play with him, this game is THE best next thing. Very nicely packaged and very nice to play.
