I purchased this product within a matter of days after it came on the market, and after reading everything I could find about it and talking to friends who have Kodak printers. The things I print most ofter are DVD and CD Lables. I do this on a Full-faced lable stock from Sure Thing. This printer would not recognize the stock. After speaking with 2nd or 3rd level support techs I was informed that this problem had occurred in earlier Kodak Printers in regards to pribnting on some Avery Lable stocks. I asked if a fix could be created to have my printer work on the stock I prefer to use and was informed that they would not do that. I returned the printer.

My printer head would not insert properly. The pressure asserted was not sufficient to engage the printer head. When I placed the black ink cartridge and the color cartridge in first and then gently pressed on the whole assembly it clicked into place. All the tests were successful. If you tried to download the information from the CD drive to the computer it would not open the file. I am running Windows 7. I had to connect the USB plug to the printer and download from the internet from Kodak to get the required material. It prints well and quickly in black and white. Only prints in shades of green. Tested two color cartridges with the same result.

I probably have a “lemon” but that happens now and then. I will return the unit to Wal-Mart this morning.

Doesn’t suck up ink! Also, incredibly cheap black and color cartridges. B-E-A-utiful prints – crisp colors on photo paper, and fast printing to boot. Go figure – a great buy from a company that spent years doing camera film and photos.

If you are a small business owner or looking to replace a current family printer, GIVE THIS A SHOT!

I’ve always purchased cheap printers and this is definitely one of the better budget printers I’ve used. The print quality is excellent and surprisingly fast. If you use photo paper, the quality is on par with Wal-greens for having digital photos printed.

It’s also quite easy to use. It took me about 5 minutes to set it up/install all software. The scan/copy controls on top of the printer are really easy to figure out. The SD/HC, MS, MMC card slot is also a great feature. You can just pop in your camera or cell phone’s memory card and print without a computer. This feature works great.

The primary reason why I bought this printer was it has some of the cheapest ink on the market. $10 for black ink and $15 for color ink!

The only con is that the scan quality is not that great. I tried scanning in photos and there are faint white lines in the photo file and it is definitely more grainy than the original photo. I would not recommend this printer if you’re planning to use it primarily for the scanning photo feature. However I will say that I have never had/used a personal scanner with really good photo scanning capabilities (so this is about average).

In summary, I bought this printer at Wal-mart for $99 and I have no complaints for the price although better photo scanning would have made the printer 5-star worthy.
