I purchased this last year, kept it updated, did nothing to prevent a Trojan from infecting my PC. Tried to install Norton afterwards but by then it was too late, had to reformat to remove the infection. I learned my lesson, sure it’s cheap, but you get what you pay for! Stick with Norton, McAffe, or something more trustworthy!

I don’t think I’ve written a review before, and I’ve been an Amazon customer for several years.
This has to be the worst piece of software ever written. I think they need to find the kid that wrote it, and get their $10 back. The worst is the firewall. I used to use Zone Alarm, and it was great. Adding rules was intuitive, the interface was responsive, and the process didn’t take too many system resources. Somehow CA took that product and made it unusable. The UI design has become unwieldy, and trying to add a rule is a nightmare because of the interface and poor performance.
I get the CA suite free, since I use RR… but after installing it on XP and Vista … my kids had me install Linux (and dual boot). They could then use the web and play their games (using Wine). It’s a certifiable nightmare, and the company should issue a product recall… or give everyone an extra CPU and 4gigs of RAM.

This product is slower than others on the market, and bogs down your system. I purchased the 5 user license program (which is the only reason for loading it on another computer) and when trying to install the program on my second computer, the only copy I could download was a trial version that would not execute quarantines. I called the customer service number and they told me that I would have to work with a chat room technician or they would charge me to have customer support! I spent 6 hours with the chat technicians and everytime they did something you had to reboot your machine to see if it would work, and then you would get a different technician. After 6 hours they told me that it was my computer and not their program that was the problem and I would have to use the phone support as they could not help me, but that it would cost me to do so. The cost was half the cost of the program. I decided to install another program by Trend Micro which took less than 15 minutes without any problems to install.

First of all, i installed this product on a Vista 64-bit system and i’ve had to reformat 4 times so far. Their tech support people only know how to unistall the product but nothing else. Yesterday i got an email from their customer service dept. saying they are not compatible with vista 64-bit even though their web site announced they would come out with a 64-bit version on November 26 and they did but it does not work.
Today i got a link to a “new” version which ended up being a downgrade from the version i had originally purchased.
Just be careful with these people, they are not in the “protecting pcs” business bur rather in the ripping off people business.
