How do you reboot a computer without a mouse?
Posted by: kk : Category: Computer Question Answers
I’m trying to use software to erase the information on my old computer before donating it. The mouse is not working on the computer. I’ve tried another mouse on the computer and it still will not work. I need to reboot my computer in order to start the disc wiper. Is there a way of rebooting my computer without a mouse? Thanks so much!

Push the power button– should turn the computer off. Then push the power button again to turn it back on– it’s the same effect as a reboot.

use tab and select or space bar.

Just hold down the ‘on’ button for about 8 seconds. It will turn the computer off, then just press it again and turn it back on again.
Good luck!

twice. This should send it to a regular shutdown. If you just shut the power off, or try to power down using the power button, you aren’t doing yourself, your computer or your hard drive any favors.March 9th, 2010 at 5:11 am

You can still use the command prompt.
Press the Windows + R key to bring up the Run dialog box.
type in CMD and hit enter.
in the command prompt, type in the command
SHUTDOWN -r -t 01
this causes your computer to shut down and reboot after a 1 second delay.

Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del twice might do it. Or, you could press the Windows key, navigate the Start Menu with the arrow keys until you get to “shut down”, then press Enter. Or, if no windows are open, you could press Alt-F4 to bring up the shut down menu, then use the arrow keys to choose “reboot”, then press Enter.
