How do I transfer my music from my ipod to the computer?
Question by Ichiyoshi: How do I transfer my music from my ipod to the computer?
I have a computer at my mom’s and my dad’s. Usually I just use the Itunes at my mom’s to download stuff, but I wanted to install Itunes at my dad’s and buy a movie. The library is empty, but it keeps saying to either authorize the computer and transfer purchases or erase and sync. I went to the Store menu and clicked Authorize computer and typed my information in and it said the computer is aithorized now, but when I go to transfer purchases, it says I have to authorize the computer. Help!

Unfortunately, iTunes does not allow you to copy music from an iPod to a computer.
To do this, you need a separate program, which you can download here: http://www.getsharepod.com/

I dont think i pods work that way, because once you sync your ipod to a new computer all the music gets wiped and you have to start all over again.
You could just get a memory stick, transferr the music from your mums music library to the memory stick, and then just move it on to your dads computer.

First, plug in your ipod to your computer. Next, look in your computer settings (or just search) for “View hidden files). Once you have done this you can see the music and movies in any ipod. Do this and select ipod control, music. Then, select all of the folders and copy them onto a separate folder. Do this and unplug the ipod. With the folder you have just made, select all (CTRL-A) in each secondary folder and drag the files into itunes.

Here is an easy way. Simply use an iPod transfer program to help you, like this handy one called Tansee iPod Transfer http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-Transfer.htm
Many of my friends are using it for its easy and safe transfer.
With just a few simple clicks, it will help you transfer all songs/videos from iPod to your selected folder on your computer, and then you can easily add those files back to iTunes.
More importantly, this won’t overwrite any original files on your iPod. And all song titles are preserved.
It even has step-by-step guide on the whole process:

Best luck!
