How can I start my computer over again without getting rid of my Anti-Virus software?
Question by Tom Dott: How can I start my computer over again without getting rid of my Anti-Virus software?
Ok, I want to restart my computer and get rid of most of my programs so I can start it all over and make it faster. I want it to be like the way it was the day I got it, but I don’t want to get rid of my Norton Antivirus, and my McAfee Antivirus. What do I do to restart my computer and what do I do to keep those 2 programs? Thank you.

if you installed your antivirus before any of other applications then you can try a system restore..go to start-all programs-accessories-system tools-system restore and restore your computer to that point…it will make your computer like new

To get rid of viruses follow these steps
Download the following software from a un infected computer
Combofix and malwarebytes
Start the infected computer in safemode by hitting the F8 key and selecting Safemode with Networking from the Menu.
Now run Combofix
Restart your computer once more in Safemode With Networking
Now Install and run Malwarebytes , Do a full scan
Wait for it to finish, Delete all the viruses Malwarebytes should find.
Restart your computer install a Antivirus for added protection

I don’t want to get rid of my Norton Antivirus, and my McAfee Antivirus – you can only run one antivirus program, no wonder your PC so slow.

just like one of the answerer”s reply, try to do system restore, before the point you had a sluggish pc but after installation of antivirus. If not you need to reformat and re install your av program. By the way, keeping 2 antiviruses will definitely make your pc slow and sluggish. On the other hand, if you trust your AV, why run two av programs? you wont get the double protection you might be thinking by keeping 2 avs. An antivirus program wih dual engine is much differently configured than 2 separate programs in one pc which will compete for resources. choose one which suit your needs and your system. multiantispyware/antimalware program though is acceptable

First off!
You should NOT be running BOTH of these software’s simultaneously. They have conflicts.
Save the information regarding your Norton – this info. should be attached to your Norton account.
Re-post with the make and model of computer to factory restore for a more detailed solution.
I would also recommend that you run MalwareBytes along with Norton for FULL protection after restore!
