How can I connect a second computer to the internet without using an Ethernet cable?
Question by Cian R: How can I connect a second computer to the internet without using an Ethernet cable?
My first computer is connected to a wireless modem. I want to connect a second computer, at the other end of the house, to the internet but without having to use an Ethernet cable and without a Wifi card in the computer. I have a phone port next to it and a DSL filter. Can I do it? If so what else do I need?

Without that computer having an ethernet adapter or a wireless card, you will not be able to connect to the computer using the wireless modem. You do have a phone jack which will allow you to connect a DSL provider thru that jack. Do you really want to do that though? I don’t think so. The only workaround is to invest in a wireless adapter card so you don’t have to deal with an ethernet adapter and you can connect wireless.

Not via the DSL. If you preclude ethernet or wireless you are looking at some other connection between the two computers. This could be powerline networking, a serial cable or whatever but ethernet would be the best choice to be honest.

The DSL would be available on the other line but there is not way to break the setup. You would need another modem to grab the DSL signals there agian.
Instead connect using a Belkin Wireless Adapter and connec to same mode wireless. If you Plan to use any extension cable please do not. It reduces the speed alot.
Or plug your Mode somewhere in between the 2 computers and access the Internet on both at reasonable speed
telephone line> Filter> DSL cable> Modem> LAN cable> computer1
Wireless Adapter> Computer2

You will need to get a Wireless Router. If you want better and faster and NON-Wireless connections. Then get a Hub. A wired hub.
You plug the modem into the hub. Then their are four ports for four computers.
