I previously downloaded Mahjong Quest 3, which I enjoyed but I wanted a bit more variety. I downloaded a trial of this and of Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom. MT:AW was okay, but very similar to MQ3 so after the 30 minute trial was over I didn’t buy it. This, however, was completely different– I immediately bought it when the 30 minute trial was up, and haven’t stopped playing yet! I love the fact that there are unlockables (tile sets, backgrounds, games you can play at your leisure rather than against the clock) as well as playing against the clock for higher and higher points, and several different ways to play the game (I enjoy the challenge of River, while Split makes me want to pull my hair out). My 16 year old daughter has really enjoyed it, too (the game allows several users and keeps track of each one’s level) so this was definitely worth the price! My only concern is that it has crashed out to the desktop twice in the week or so I’ve had it, but I can immediately restart it without any problem. Even though that’s a bit annoying, I would definitely buy it over again, especially at Amazon’s price.
