The stronger and more interesting of two games based on the movie, the eponymous Finding Nemo lets kids reunite father and son deep off the reef in Australia’s waters. The game opens with Nemo and Marlin in their respective environments, the dentist’s fish tank and the wild waters of the open sea. The two fish are linked by a small button at the bottom of the screen, and players can toggle between them as they complete various puzzles.

The game features all the original cast members, and in addition to classic lines from the film, they improvise new lines. Dory, voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, is hilarious, and smaller characters–like Nemo’s friends in the tank–get more time to show players their individual, funny personalities: clicking on each fish kicks off a short conversation. Although there’s more watching than doing in the early stages of the games, Nemo fans will be enthralled. Later stages involve memory games, like following patterns while jumping on the backs of jellyfish. All the characters, including sharks and sea turtles, make extended appearances in Finding Nemo.

Like Nemo’s Underwater World of Fun, this game has two primary issues: computer owners must pay close attention to system requirements (otherwise, movie scenes in playback stutter significantly) and gameplay itself lasts little more than an hour, if kids ace the tasks. Also, one caveat for education-minded parents: this game is clearly only for fun, not for–pardon the pun–schooling. But kids will need to look beyond the obvious to complete the tasks in this game, and it’s the possibility for discovery that makes Finding Nemo well worth exploring.–Jennifer BuckendorffAmazon.com Product Description

I saw “Finding Nemo” twice in theaters and just decided that it is officially my favorite movie. With most movies, you should probably avoid wasting your time and money on disappointing games and books, etc., and just see the movie. But to get the full “Finding Nemo” experience, you NEED to play this game and read the “Essential Guide” from Dorling-Kindersley. You actually WILL find out things you won’t get from the movie.

I saw two “Nemo” games on the shelf when I bought this, and one said “Ages 4+.” Being 16, I said, “No way. Too young.” Then I saw this. No age limit. Rated “E” for everyone. And made by THQ, same brand as my previous “Spongebob Squarepants” PC game that I love so much. So, I purchased it. This game is so utterly adorable that no matter what age you are, you’re guaranteed to love it! The game shows you a very large portion of the film itself in high-quality clips, and the graphics are excellent. The dialogue’s even better; almost all of the movie’s voice actors take part in this game, with the surprising exceptions, apparently, of Albert Brooks (Marlin) and Ellen DeGeneres (Dory)! But, their voices sound so similar you probably won’t miss them too much. The rest of the cast is terrific and it’s such fun to hear them speak, especially the tank gang, which in my opinion is the best part of the game.

These games are many and moderately challenging. You can’t just sit there bored and make it through them in 20 minutes, but they are not long, dull, difficult, time-consuming, frustrating, mind-numbing, boring games either. They achieve the perfect ‘game balance.’ The game is not hard to figure out; it begins the story quickly and moves right on through, never leaving you confused as to where to go.

The games themselves are alot of fun. And there are quite a few of them. The very best part of the game is guiding Nemo around the tank, picking up Friendship Totems from all the fish and helping them out in minigames! It is truly, insanely cute. You get to meet everyone and interact. The characters are very funny, and like I said, the graphics are so mind-blowingly good that it looks just like the movie. Some of the best games are the Tiki Head game, the Jellyfish game with Dory & Marlin, the Anglerfish game, Catch the Bubbles & the Filter game.

Everywhere you go there are things to do! It’s such a fun game, you’ll play it over & over. I highly recommend this as a supplement to seeing “Finding Nemo!”

Great movie!! Average game. I bought this game for my 8-yr old daughter because she just loved the movie, and I thought she can extend that enjoyment with this pc game. One hour later, she had finished the game! It was too short! I read the manual book just to make sure we didn’t miss any other levels of play, but no. It was over. It’s a good product with great cut scenes from the movie, but I think the 4 to 6 year olds would be better suited for this software.

My four-year-old daughter found this game a bit difficult and needed my assistance in solving some puzzles and generally maintaining forward progress to the gamefs conclusion. After she completed it, however, she played it several more times on her own. It makes her laugh and laugh and laugh because there are a variety of funny situations for young children. There are also funny situations for adults that probably go over her head every time she sees them. This game is probably best for children aged five to seven. Itfs graphics and voices are the best available today and the problem solving skills rival Freddie Fish Quality.

It is very similar to it, as if format copied. My 7 year old daughter likes, my 4 yeard old son got it for birthday, we had it on our wish list, but he’s struggling with it. The voice does sound like the original characters like Ellen DeGeneres.
