While priced low, don’t be fooled into thinking this is a budget title. It’s not. This is a first-rate game at a bargain price. It is a WW II mission-based game in which you control a squad of men into Germany. You can switch at ANY time from first to third person. You can also switch bodies with any of your men at any time, which is really cool. You can command your men to hold position, attack, or follow in a variety of formations. You can commandeer vehicles. The sniper rifle has always been my favorite gun in any game that offers them, and I was delighted to see one here, and it works fine. You must sneak and strategize to survive. When starting the game you pick your squad from 12 available men with different skills. Then you outfit them however you like. This is a nice feature and is more involving than other shooters, but it is very easy to do. There are rain effects, and the grass even blows in the wind. The graphics are great, and I was amazed to find that the game ran smoothly (640 x 480) on my ageing PII 450 with an NVidia TNT 1 video card. I’m running 256 MB ram and 16 MB video ram. I’m running it with high detail. I imagine if your video card is 32 MB, you could crank the resolution higher and still get good framerates. This game even comes with a small manual, which contains most everything you’ll need to know to play the game. Others have mentioned a few graphical glitches, but I have seen none of those on my system, and I suspect video card driver problems with those who have had those problems. Bottom line: This would be a great game even if it was full-priced. This is the best money I’ve spent all year, and I can only hope this low pricing is the start of a trend.

I don’t understand some of these negative reviews- this has to be one of the best games anyone has done with the (…) price.
The game is similar to Hidden & Dangerous and Rogue Spear- but in 3D and with less planning. The graphics are excellent and the sound and music are top notch- gameplay just flat out rocks!!!
Don’t be swayed by these negative reviews- DEADLY DOZEN is worth every penny and is more fun than Wolfenstien (…). The “big boys” (i.e. Activision and EA) charge more and deliver less game- kudos to NFusion and Infogrames for showing everyone that great games don’t NEED to cost $$$ (…)!
It will be the best money you have ever spent on a PC game- ever!

Deadly Dozen is awesome, despite it’s price. A value-priced WWII shooter that rivals “Return to Castle Wolfenstein” and “Ghost Recon”. Normally, I stay away from these bargain games, but this game is excellent. Be sure to download the latest patches that fix the little bugs that shipped with it. The developer nFusion is really on the ball here, with updates, content mods and even an easy-to-use editor that really gives the game a longevity that will continue past the original 10 missions (you’ll need to download these: patches, mods and the editor are available at the website, n-fusion.com). By the way, each mission takes a good 1-2 hours to beat on the Realistic settings, so be prepared for slow and careful, not run-and-gun, but even those settings can be changed to enable a faster First Person Shooter experience. BUY THIS GAME. It’s worth it.

This is an older title, that is now very affordable and well worth the money.
Similar to may other games around at the moment, including the hugely popular Medal of Honor – you control a special unit of soldiers through around 12 or so levels across Europe during the latter part of WWII.
An array of weapons, tasks and specialities are available to you as you equip up to 4 team members (picked from a choice of 12 for each mission)on each level, which progressively get harder and require more task solving. The “Easy” level is actually not that easy, and where the game scores, I feel is in believability (one head shot kills, for example). The only aspect of the game I found annoying was the inability to pre select tasks for the group members you don’t control. As you can only carry out the actions of one member at a time, switching between characters is a little frustrating, and those not under your control tend to act of their own accord during the mission, if they are in the midst of the action. Hidden & Dangerous was better from the point of view of being able to “send” other team members to specific areas, whilst you carried on with one, but this is still very enjoyable.
Fans of this type of game will certainly feel that it is money well spent, and the game does keep your attention for many mnay hours (as long as you don’t cheat). Definite two thumbs up!

Who’s played “Wolfenstein”? How about “Medal of Honor”? Well, if you want a break from those big games and want a small but pretty fun First Person, get Deadly Dozen. Based off of the real dozen of misfits, you can use many different vintage WWII Weapons, like the Thompson, Springfield and the famous M1 Garand. Don’t be fooled if it is in a bargain box. It is delightful and has many other features best left secret. It barely takes up much of your hard drive and loads easily. PLus, download the patch and improve it. All in all, it is a good game with a good engine, so-so graphics (that’s why it got a four) and good gameplay (like 17 buttons with three men, ten without) it can keep you happy.
