Very happy with this fan. I bought two and installed them in the back of my A/V entertainment cabinet to keep my components running cool. Worked out great. My cabinet has two seperate, enclosed sections for components (with a DVD storage section in the middle). I installed a fan behind each enclosed section.

I chose this fan because it was reportedly silent and because the power consumption is low. Sure enough, it’s completely silent, even with both running at the same time. The low power consumption allowed me to use an R/C battery charger to power both (wired in parallel) on AC power. I wired in a switch that turns on both fans when I open one of the doors slightly. I was initially concerned about the low air volume of 11.2 CFM per fan when I ordered it but it does the job.

I realize this is an unconventional use of this PC fan, but that’s what I used it for and it worked out great.

I purchased two of these fans without first looking at the CFM. They were cheap. It was a mistake.

    The pros:

Dead silent. Can’t even hear them with the case open.

Low wattage, less than 1 watt.

Comes with a 3 plug converter to Molex (4pin)

Good for cases with a vent on the ceiling of the case

    The cons:

Less than 12 CFM. Kind of begs the question why bother. A single standard 120mm fan pushes more air then three of these things combined.

    Conclusion:

If you have a low powered rig that produces very little heat as it, then these fans will do just fine. I’m going to put these in my family’s other computer which is pretty basic. But if you have anything resembling something used for significant work or gaming, these fans will not cut it. In many ways, you’re better off just leaving the case doors off then relying on just these fans.

    yes it is very quite.

but its quite because it spins so slow it hardly moves any air.
