This is quite a disappointment, given the cost.
The RCA connections are just plain too tight, and the design doesn’t allow you to loosen them up any. On mine, one of the audio connections and one of the component video connections won’t go far enough onto the plug for the signal to pass through, and another of the video connections will only go on with a lot of pressure. This is on an older Onkyo AV receiver for audio and a fairly new Samsung 42″ lcd TV for video, and the fit is the same on any jack on the system.
If I try to force them on, I can see the equipment connector boards flexing, and I’m worried about breaking them. The component connector that had to be pressured on was extremely difficult to remove, due to the slick shell.
A lot of people also have this problem with the composite version of this, as other reviews mentioned.
Unfortunately, this is a typical Apple approach of form over function. The cable design is quite beautiful and sleek, but there is absolutely no way to adjust the connectors to loosen the fit, the way you can with traditional RCA cables, and the slick and shiny connector housing doesn’t allow for much grip when trying to remove them.
Many people have better luck with fit, it appears, so my suggestion is to keep the packaging until you know it will work with your system.

I’ll agree that this cable is a little expensive for what it does, but if you don’t want to shell out the money for Apple TV, its well worth the price and it does its job wonderfully. The connectors fit snugly, but are not overly tight like the composite cable (I bought that one first before realizing my TV had component inputs). I especially like how it comes with the Apple AC power adapter and USB cable that allows the ipod to charge while it’s being used. As with all Apple products, the cable looks very nice, but more importantly it also performs nicely. It’s also convenient to take your movies with you to a friends house or on vacation. Just load up your ipod and take your cable along and you’re good to go. If you can get over the price factor, I’d definitely recommend buying this product.

Not much to add, most of it’s been said – TV connectors are poorly designed…the cable works and I don’t anticipate needing to remove the cables anytime soon.
Works with the iPhone 4

After reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. I used it with my 3rd gen Ipod Touch. The cable worked as promised, no connection issues, no compatibility issues. It was truly “Plug and Play”. It only supports video output. As soon as video streaming stops, the signal transmission to the TV stops as well. It comes with the adapter which allows you to connect the Ipod to the electric outlet directly so the battery won’t run out of charge. Some people reported the problem with charging and watching the video at the same time. I did not have such a problem or any other problems with this cable. In fact, it’s quite convenient.
The biggest disappointment is the quality of the video on the TV. You have to understand, that the Ipod was designed to watch the video on it’s small display, not on HD TV. I have 720p 37″ TV with the native resolution of 1366×768. The video quality does not look all that great. It’s rather mediocre. You can get used to it but if I knew how it look on the TV I would pay some more and bought Apple TV or some other HD player.
P.S. I returned this cable and bought Apple TV instead – much better quality and functionality.

Some say this cable is over priced. Maybe but remember you get a power adapter with the cable. This adapter is quite small, seems to shut off when not connected to an iPod, because there is no warmth that I can detect to it then. The cable is really nice to have. I can view on my TV HD movies and TV episodes from my iPod and they look great ! No compromise if you get high quality down loads. I can listen to music etc through my home stereo system all without changing the plugs. It charges the iPod and iPhone and with a doc holds them upright. I am happy with my purchase. I would buy one again. It would be nice if this was a thirty or forty dollar package but the components are high quality and look great too. The plugs fit right ( not too tight or too loose ). I have bought cheep cables that quit working soon after purchasing. I feel I have a quality product from a top shelf company. Period.
